Overview
What is ISO 45001:2018?
ISO 45001:2018 is the international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management systems. It helps an organization prevent work-related injury and ill health and provide safe and healthy workplaces, through hazard identification, risk control, worker consultation and participation, and continual improvement. It replaced OHSAS 18001.
Who it is for in Saudi Arabia
ISO 45001 is widely used by construction and contracting companies, industrial and energy sites, facility management providers and any employer with significant workplace risks. It is commonly part of contractor pre-qualification, and it covers contractors working under the organization's control.
Our accreditation
TUV United Arabia is accredited by the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) for ISO 45001:2018 certification, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1. SAAC is a signatory of the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA). See our accreditation page.
How certification works
After your application and quotation, the Stage 1 audit reviews your OH&S management system documentation, hazard and risk assessments and legal requirements, and your readiness. The Stage 2 audit evaluates implementation on site, including how workers are consulted and how incidents are investigated. The certificate is valid for three years with annual surveillance audits. Preparing for your audit
As a certification body we do not provide consultancy. Use our free ISO 45001 implementation guide and the readiness checklist to understand the requirements. ISO 45001 can be audited together with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
